Florence "Charlie" Mary Young

  Florence "Charlie" Mary Young, age 79, passed from this life on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Florence, affectionately known as Charlie, was born October 19, 1945, in Queens, New York, to Walter J. Werner and Mary Jane (McElhaney) Werner. Fulfilling her calling as a loving homemaker, wife, and mother, Charlie was also devout in her faith, a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church, and an avid reader. 

  Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Werner, and by her husband, J.W. Young. 

  Left to carry on her legacy are her children and their spouses, Joe Young, John Young, and Robin Beets; cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren - each one her pride and joy; as well as her sisters, April Towels and Betty Grippon; nephews, nieces, and other loving family members. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. 

  A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at the funeral chapel, with burial to follow at the Greenwood Community Cemetery.
