Filomena 'Fil' Fabrizio

October 19, 1930 — March 9, 2024

Filomena ‘Fil’ (Pittarelli) Fabrizio, 93, gracefully passed away with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She came into this world on October 19, 1930, in Endicott, New York to her loving parents, Vincent and Mary Pittarelli. Throughout her life, Fil held her family and faith in the highest regard. Her spiritual home was Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Endicott, NY, later transitioning to Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish in Aledo, TX upon moving to Texas.

A dedicated elementary school teacher by profession, Fil also served as the esteemed "Queen" of her local Red Hat Society. Her fondness for the color red ("The Lady in Red"), Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney World ("It's a Small World" Ride), line-dancing, ceramics, crocheting, and her adventurous spirit shone brightly through her love for travel, casinos, and new experiences.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Louis (Susan) Fabrizio residing in Plainville, Connecticut, Ernest (Darlene) Fabrizio residing in Coral Springs, Florida, and Louisa (Gerald) McQuade residing in Aledo, Texas, and daughter-in-law, Mel Fabrizio from Edneyville, North Carolina. Furthermore, she is survived by a host of grandchildren who fondly called her Grandma, Grandma Bingo, Gimp, and GiGi, Ryan (Kristen) Fabrizio, Amy (Brian) Hayes, Lea (Bobby) Hamila, Sara Fabrizio, Gerald (Ashley) McQuade, Ernest (Bronte) McQuade, James McQuade, Mary McQuade, Michael McQuade, and Georgia McQuade; along with great-grandchildren, Colin Hayes, Carter Fabrizio, Joey Hamila, Emma Hamila, Hudson Fabrizio, Dylan Hayes, Avery Fabrizio, and Theo McQuade. Among those mourning her departure are two brothers, Ben (Beverly) Pittarelli and Vincent (Francis) Pittarelli; sister-in-law, Palma Colona; as well as brother-in-law, Mario (Aggie) Fabrizio. Also surviving her are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and dear friends.

Joining Filomena in eternal peace are her "one and only" husband, Ernest Anthony Fabrizio; son, Michael Fabrizio; granddaughter, Angel McQuade; parents, Vincent and Mary Pittarelli; in-laws, Louis and Louisa Fabrizio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Mary Fabrizio, and Joseph and Fanny Fabrizio, and Vincent Colona; as well as her beloved dog, Tootsie.

Catholic Mass commemorating Filomena's life will be conducted on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo. In due course, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Endicott, New York. Filomena's legacy of love and devotion will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to have known her.
