Evelyn Darlene Wood

  Evelyn Darlene Wood, 60, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 29, 2015, at a local nursing facility. She was born on September 26, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan. Evelyn was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God in Springtown. She enjoyed listening to country music, claimed to be married to Elvis Presley, and enjoyed playing with her doll babies. She enjoyed helping others and making those friends near her smile.

  Miss Wood is survived by her three brothers, Victory Wood and his wife, Charlotte of Springtown; Charles Wood and his wife, Jackie of Auburn, Georgia; and George Wood and his wife, Paulette of Adele, Georgia.

  Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Bessie Wood.

  The family would like to thank the staff at Santa Fe Health and Rehabilitation Center for their caring of Evelyn.

  Graveside service for Evelyn 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Memory Gardens. Visitation 10:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
