Esther Ruth Garner

  Esther “Ruth” Garner, 83, of Brock, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 in a local nursing center.  Ruth was born August 28, 1927 in Hillsboro, Texas. She was a beautician and a member of South Main Church of Christ; she loved quilting and traveling with her friends. She would even cheat at dominoes and cards when she could get away with it. Ruth loved life and her family above all. She had a smile and a sense of humor that will always be remembered.  

  Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, O. B. “Buddy” Garner, on May 14, 2001.

  Survivors: sons, Stan Garner and wife, Minnie of Weatherford and Jimmy Garner and wife, Rita of Brock; sister, Pat Morris of Lake Worth; grandchildren, Stacey Pierce, Angela McElroy, Christi McDaniel, Terrie Decker, Byron Garner, Neal Garner, and Nealla Garner; 12 Great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
 
  Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment: Brock Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Memorials: American Kidney Foundation.
