Emilie Gonzales

 Emilie Gonzales, age 89, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Santa Rosa, Texas, to Merced Salas and Petra Hinojosa. Emilie married the love of her life, Hilario Juan Gonzales, and together they shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Kocian; and her brother, Daniel Salas. 

 With a heart for service, Emilie worked for many years as a devoted caregiver and later as a dietary aide at the hospital. Her nurturing spirit extended well beyond her work - she found joy in tending her garden, crocheting gifts with love, playing bingo, and taking occasional trips to the casino. 

 Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Cindy Brumfield and husband, Jon; Becky Lee and husband, Gary; and Debbie Rowe and husband, Neill. Emilie’s legacy continues through her five grandchildren: John Brumfield and wife, Randi; Jacob Fain and wife, Jody; Justin Rowe; Katy Hernandez and husband, David; and Emily Reyes and husband, Austin; and her five great-grandchildren: Kenndi Brumfield, Kenson Fain, Kolsten Fain, Kayzlee Fain, and Koda Fain. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Lupe Jimenez, and her brother, Joe Salas. 

   A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Waterhouse Church, 1010 South Bowie, Weatherford, Texas.
