Ellen “Maggie” O’Brien, 91, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010, in a Weatherford nursing facility. Maggie was born January 6, 1919, in Malone, New York, to William and Selina Degon Dumas.
Maggie grew up in Malone, New York, married her husband of 50 years, James and together they moved their family to Southwick, Massachusetts. She enjoyed volunteering at the Southwick Senior Center, enjoyed Bingo and the Boston Red Sox.
Following the passing of her husband, Maggie moved to Texas where she spent the last six years near her daughters.
Survivors include daughters, Julee Wilhoit and husband, Jim of Bridgeport Texas and Maryellyn Hartington and husband, David of Midwest City, Oklahoma; four grandsons, Andrew Hartington and wife, Dana, David Hartington and wife, Holly, Shawn Wilhoit and wife, Melissa and Patrick Wilhoit; and four great grandchildren, Reilly, Emily, Carley Wilhoit, and Alahna Ross.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Southwick Cemetery in Southwick, Massachusetts. Burial will be in Southwick Cemetery in Southwick, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
