Elizabeth “Lizzie” Brandon, age 93, of Weatherford, died Thursday afternoon August 21, 2008, in the local hospital. Born October 26, 1914, in Weatherford, where she had lived most of her life, she was a homemaker, salesperson for Ben Franklin, Duke and Ayers and Kirkland Fabrics. Mrs. Brandon was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, Pythian Sisters, loved gardening and she was an artist, using oil paints.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell L. Brandon; brother, Fritz Walker; and a sister, Sue Yeary.
Survivors: daughter, Sharon Garrett and husband, Wayne of Weatherford; sons, Morris Brandon and wife, Dorothy of Weatherford, and Kenneth E. Brandon of Weatherford; and four grandchildren, Leah Caraway, Amy Brandon, Heather Garrett, Brandon Garrett and wife, Audra.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2008, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 24, at the funeral home.
