Elizabeth (Betty) Ruth Mullins

Elizabeth (Betty) Ruth Harper Mullins, age 87, peacefully departed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Betty was born on October 18, 1935, in Harrison County, near Marshall, Texas.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Kenneth Irvin Mullins of Weatherford, Texas. She was a caring and dedicated mother to her sons, Kelvin Lee Mullins and wife, Bridget; Keith Allen Mullins and wife, Veronica; and to her daughter, Kerri Lynn Stein and husband, Phil. Betty was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandchildren, Stefan Mullins and wife, Amanda; Lauren Weatherby and husband, Dan; Kristin Stein; Matthew Mullins and wife, Rebecca and Caleb Stein and wife, Keeley. Her great-grandchildren include, Kennedy, Breck and Vivianna Mullins, Archer Weatherby, and a great-grandchild expected in January 2024. Betty is also survived by her beloved sister, Glenda Harper Harrell and husband, James Harrell.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Leon Harper and Grace Enola (Wheeler) Harper. Additionally, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Harper; sister-in-law, Ann Harper; and nephews, Mike Harper and Daren Harrell.

After graduating from high school, Betty married the love of her life and became a dedicated homemaker and mother. Her family was always her first priority and she cared for them with unending generosity and joy. Betty was a long-time, devoted member of North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford. She also participated in and supported the Parker County Extension Education Association. Along with her husband, she enjoyed RV travels throughout the United States, including Alaska. In her later years, Betty was no stranger to estate sales, delighting in finding her next treasure.

Betty lived her life with diligence and kindness and will be remembered by many as a loyal friend, always willing to include others in her circle. She had unwavering faith in God and was a devout Christian.

The visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. Her funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, at the North Side Baptist Church of Weatherford. Betty will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Grange Hall Cemetery, outside Marshall, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Betty's name to the North Side Baptist Church Building Fund.
