Eleonore "Ellie" Lisbeth Greenfield, born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932, entered into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Christmas Day, her 93rd birthday, December 25, 2025, completing a long life beautifully marked by faith, love, and grace.

Ellie was born in Breslau, Germany and she lived in Germany until meeting the love of her life, Samuel “Chuck” who was a GI stationed in Germany. She and her family endured the hardships of wartime Germany during World War II - an experience that taught her perseverance and helped anchor the faith that guided her throughout her life. Ellie lived her life with quiet strength, deep devotion, and steadfast love for others. She found joy in being a homemaker and cooking for and helping her family. She found comfort in prayer and peace in trusting God’s plan through every season of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, Omi (grandmother), and friend, whose wisdom, and unwavering love left a mark on all who knew her. Her legacy of faith and love will continue through the many lives she touched.

Eleonore was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lisbeth Ziegenhals; her sister, Marianne Reimer; and the twins, all in Germany.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel "Chuck" Greenfield of almost 71 years; her brother, Detlev Ziegenhals (Gerlinde) and sister, Christiane Wacker (Klaus) in Germany; her daughters, Evelyn Gilley (Jessey), Cynthia Rose (Paul), and Christina Wells (Darren); her grandchildren, Tammie Kendrix (Ronnie), Malinda Nowell (Michael), Tiffanie Warham (Lanny), Carrie Eubank, Brandon Hammett, Erica Hammett, Mike Eubank (Angie), Jessika Roldan (Chris), Megan Butler, Andrew Butler (Evani), and Stormi Kelley (Kieller); great-grandchildren, Keelyn (Alyssa), Madison (Evan), Melissa, Emma, Claire, Nicholas, James, Lanny Jr., Jonathan, Rocky, Darwin, Brees, Jeffrey, and a sweet one on the way; and great-great-grandchildren, Jax and Olivia; as well as many other extended family and friends, both in the United States and Germany, that also knew and cherished her as "Omi" and Ellie.

"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Ellie will be deeply missed on this earth, but her family and friends rejoice in knowing that this is not goodbye, just "until we meet again."

A celebration of Ellie’s life will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel (913 Elm St.) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel (913 Elm St.) on Tuesday, December 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
