Edwin Stevens

Edwin Stevens, 87, of Aledo, passed away on July 7, 2020, at his home. A graveside committal service will be private at Center Point Cemetery.

Edwin was born in Peaster, Texas on April 9, 1933 to Luther and Susie Stevens. He proudly served his country from 1953 until 1955 in the U.S. Army. Edwin married Mary Louise Nichols and together had two sons, Keith and Lyman. They were married for 50 years. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting. Edwin will be remembered for his hard work, his generosity, and “for his willingness to help anyone in need.” Most of all, he will be remembered affectionately for his love and devotion to his family.

Edwin is survived by his sons, Keith and Lyman (Julie) Stevens; his grandchildren, Casey Jo Stevens, Wyatt Lewis Stevens, Tate (Randy) Doran, Carson (Nick) Gonzalez, and Levi (Gretchen) Stevens; and by his great-granddaughter, Lena Stevens.

In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise and by his siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
