Edward “Pete” Williams, age 91, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
Pete lived a long and meaningful life marked by faith, perseverance, and quiet dignity.
Pete was born on September 9, 1934, in Boswell, Oklahoma, to Thomas Williams and Dora (Gardner) Williams. Throughout his life, he was known as a hardworking and dependable man who dedicated himself to serving others. He worked as a truck driver and train engineer, careers that reflected his steadfast nature, strong work ethic, and commitment to responsibility.
A faithful Baptist, Pete found great joy in reading his Bible, participating in Bible studies, attending church, and gathering with family and friends for barbecues and fellowship. He will be remembered as a diligent and reliable man who often went out of his way to help others, valuing teamwork, service, and the importance of community. His quiet strength, kind heart, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dora Williams; his sister, Christine Williams; his twin brother, Eddie Williams; and his brother, T.J. Williams.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his children, Sharon Lee and husband, Marcellus, of Pomona, California; Edward Williams and wife, Jill, of Ellijay, Georgia; Evelyn Schoenleber and husband, Bruce, of Hampton, Georgia; and Marcus Williams and wife, Stacey of North Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pete lived a long and meaningful life marked by faith, perseverance, and quiet dignity. His nearly ninety-two years were filled with experiences, wisdom, and relationships that enriched the lives of those around him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the example he set through his character, devotion, and service will continue to inspire future generations.
His departure is met with both sorrow and gratitude as family and friends reflect on a life well lived and a legacy that will not be forgotten.
