Edward L. McCollum, 58, a heavy equipment operator, died Monday, March 12, 2007, in a Fort Worth hospital. Born January 11, 1949, in Fort Worth, he was a backhoe operator, a former firefighter in Haltom City and Arlington, a member of Riverside Church of God in Fort Worth, a member of the Masonic Lodge and Stockyards Lodge, he loved to play the guitar, had a zest for life and passed it on through donation to Life Gift.
His parents, Lloyd and LaFerne McCollum; and sister, Suzette Murray, preceded him in death.
Survivors: lifelong companion, Judy Godwin of Weatherford; daughters, Kim McCollum of Fort Worth, and Michelle Murname of Mansfield; sons, Kenneth McCollum of Fort Worth, and Bobby McCollum of Mansfiel; brother, Jeff McCollum; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
