Eddie Royce Pierce
May 30, 1951 – March 1, 2026
Eddie entered the Kingdom of Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 1, 2026, at 4:42 a.m. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed peacefully following a long and courageous battle with melanoma.
He was born to Ethel Morgan and Ernest Pierce in Wink, Texas, and grew up in West Texas in and around Denver City. In August of 1968, he met the love of his life, Linda Beard. They were married on February 11, 1969, and began their life together in Plains, Texas.
Eddie worked on ranches and spent some time in the rodeo scene before answering the call to the oilfield. While living in and around Denver City, he worked for Atlantic Richfield. In 1980, he and Linda moved to Mineral Wells, Texas, where he went to work for Mitchell Energy of Bridgeport. Throughout his years in the oilfield, Eddie formed many lasting friendships through both work and business. He retired in November 2014 from Devon Energy.
Shortly after retiring, Eddie and Linda fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing a small ranch in Millsap, Texas, which he proudly named Triple P Ranch. He spent the remainder of his days enjoying the simple blessings of ranch life - watching his cows and calves from the back porch, rocking chair beneath him, a cup of coffee in hand, and his faithful cat, T-Cat, resting in his lap.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Pierce of Millsap; daughter, Brandi Lee Pierce-Charlton and husband, Jason, of Millsap; granddaughter, Michaela Donice Tucker and husband, Andrew, of Millsap; honorary son, Thomas Purefoy and wife, Krista, of Mineral Wells; sister, Rita Pierce Wilmeth and husband, Brian, of Denver City; sister, Ruth Pierce Ortega and husband, Raul, of Sudan, Texas; and his brother, Elvis Roy Pierce and wife, Patsy, of Selmer, Tennessee. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and beloved pets.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Morgan Pierce of Denver City; father, Ernest Pierce, and stepmother, Mary, of Slaton, Texas; and Shirley Ann Casebolt of Snyder, Texas; along with many other family members and friends who welcomed him home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Mr. Pierce’s cremated remains will be privately interred at Millsap Cemetery, with a public gathering to follow later that afternoon; the time will be announced.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. https://www.galbreaithpickard.com/
