E. H. Ames, Jr.

E. H. Ames Jr. passed away Friday, October 19, 2012.  E.H. was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma February 24, 1933 the fourth child of Edgar and Mildred Puckett Ames.
When he was a young child the family moved to Texas settling in the Fox and Aledo Communities. He married Harvalene Linthicum on November 14, 1952. He retired from Texas Utilities after forty-two years. He was a Korean veteran, a mason and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Aledo serving in many capacities of Christian work and various civic roles within his community.
Survivors include his wife, Harvalene; daughters, Kathy Pettit and Cheryl West and husband, Dan; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.

A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 pm in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Aledo Brown Cemetery.
