Douglas Paxton Minor, Jr.

  Douglas Paxton Minor, Jr., 87, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014, in a local nursing facility. Doug was born March 18, 1927, in Dallas, to Douglas and Grace Minor. He owned and operated Doug’s Shoes in Weatherford for 19 years. Doug was a member of Willow Park Baptist Church. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred E. Minor; and two sons, Paul Minor and Garland Smith. 

  Doug is survived by his daughter, Debbie Merrill and husband, Gene of Weatherford; sister, Sandra Palmer of Corsicana; grandchildren, John Merrill and wife, Taylor, Kimberly Merrill, Richard, Kathy and Gary.

Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Interment: Curtis Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
