Doris Elaine Towles, age 78, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 19, 1947, in Weatherford, Texas, Doris was the daughter of Charles Perry Bell and Ruth Luckett. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Towles, and together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage built on love, faith, family, and devotion.
Doris worked for a number of years for the department of human services and was a longtime member of Center Point Baptist Church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured time spent with those she loved. Doris enjoyed playing games, reading, cooking, and writing poetry, often expressing her thoughtful heart and gentle spirit through her words.
More than anything, Doris loved her family deeply. Her kindness and steady presence created a foundation of love that will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Perry Bell; mother, Ruth Luckett Bell; sister, Evelyn Murphy; and brother, Charles Bell.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Towles of Aledo, Texas; daughter, Christi Sessions and husband Ken; son, Robert Towles and wife Ann; and daughter, Trena Keller; grandchildren, Trevor Sessions and wife Sonnie, Preston Hardin and wife Kylie, Madison Ewings and husband James, Randy Keller and fiancée Sonya, Destiny Fry, Austen Towles, Terra Hein, Brooklyn Hein, Layne Hein, M.J. Towles, Lillian Towles, Emma Towles, Landon Towles, and Peyton Towles; 13 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Barbara Spann of Weatherford, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Center Point Baptist Church, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Doris will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering devotion to family, and the quiet beauty she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
