In Loving Memory of Donna Elaine Simpson

Donna possessed a caring heart and a servant's spirit that would come to define her entire life.

With heavy hearts, yet with unwavering faith in the promises of Jesus Christ, we announce that Donna Elaine Simpson peacefully entered her eternal home on July 4, 2026, at the age of 62. While our hearts mourn her absence, we rejoice knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, healed and at peace.

Donna was born on October 11, 1963, in Brownwood, Texas. From an early age, she possessed a caring heart and a servant's spirit that would come to define her entire life. Those qualities shaped the woman she became and guided the way she loved her family, served her community, and faithfully followed the Lord.

Donna lived a life defined by love, compassion, faith, and service. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, an accomplished nurse, and a caregiver in every sense of the word. Whether caring for a patient, encouraging a friend, or loving her family, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own.

Donna's calling to nursing was evident from the very beginning. She graduated at the top of her nursing class from Weatherford College, an achievement that reflected both her intelligence and her remarkable work ethic. Nursing was never simply her career. It was her ministry. Throughout her years of caring for others, she combined exceptional skill with genuine compassion, offering comfort, hope, and dignity to countless patients and families during some of life's most difficult moments.

As extraordinary as she was in her profession, Donna's greatest joy was always her family. She was the steady foundation of her home, offering unconditional love, wise counsel, quiet strength, and endless encouragement. She celebrated every victory, carried the burdens of those she loved, and made everyone around her feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. The love she poured into her family will continue to be reflected for generations to come.

Above all else, Donna loved the Lord. Her faith shaped the way she lived, the way she served, and the way she loved others. Even through life's greatest challenges, she remained steadfast, trusting in God's promises and pointing those around her toward His faithfulness.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Myrtle “Granny” Wooldridge; her brother, Don E. Dobbins Jr.; her sister, Laura Lemons; her uncles, Bobby Wooldridge and DJ Dobbins; her cousin, Margie Turner; and her father-in-law, Jim Simpson.

She is survived by her father, Don Dobbins; her devoted husband, Paul Simpson; her sons, Shane Simpson and his wife, Emily, and Timothy Simpson and his wife, Jessica; her cherished grandchildren, Julia Simpson, Audrey Simpson, Christian Gaston, Natalie Simpson, Katelyn Simpson, Vanessa Simpson, and Bridget Simpson; her sisters, Mary Terrell and her husband, Dave, and Freida January and her husband, Scott; her brother-in-law, Rob Lemons; her mother-in-law, Delores Simpson; her sisters-in-law, Jen Fukutaki and her husband, Rich, and Elana Wexell and her husband, Jeff; and her brother-in-law, Ernie Simpson.

She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Josh Cheek and his wife, Katie; David Cheek and his wife, Megan; Felicia King and her husband, Spencer; Jessica January; Joel January; Max Lemons; Samantha Fukutaki and Kai Fukutaki along with many beloved extended family members, dear friends, former coworkers, and countless patients whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and compassion.

Although our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that Donna is no longer suffering. She has been made whole, welcomed into the presence of her Savior, and has heard the words every faithful believer longs to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her legacy is not only found in the people she cared for, but in the family she loved so completely and the example of faith, humility, and selflessness that she leaves behind.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who prayed, visited, encouraged, and supported Donna throughout her journey. Your kindness, love, and faithfulness will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held at a date and time to be announced. Additional service details will be shared by the family.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Though we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise that this is not goodbye. Because of Christ, we know we will see Donna again.

~

We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.
