Donna Marie Branch

  Donna Marie Branch, 81, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Born on June 22, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Frank Shaw and Mildred (Prater) Shaw, Donna lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and quiet strength. 

  Throughout the years, Donna wore many hats—each one reflecting her willingness to work hard and care well for those around her. From her time as a hairdresser to her work at Kroger’s Deli, T.G. & Y., and even as a bricklayer, she approached life with determination and a steady spirit. She was a woman who understood the value of honest work and the beauty found in everyday moments. 

  Donna found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved working crossword puzzles, crocheting with care, and getting lost in the pages of a good book. Her hands were rarely still, and her mind was always engaged, reflecting a life lived with both creativity and curiosity. 

  A woman of faith, Donna was a member of both First United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church. 

  Above all, Donna cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love created a lasting legacy. She is survived by her children, Edith Ritchie and husband, Edgar; Marcel D. Shannon, III and wife, Rochelle; and Melissa L. Shannon; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Shaw. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mildred Shaw; sister, Jo Anne Burchette; her first husband, Marcel “Max” Shannon, Jr.; and second husband, Bob Branch. Donna’s life was one of perseverance, love, and quiet grace. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. 

  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the funeral chapel, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
