Donald (Donnie) Dean Voorhies, Jr.

Donald "Donnie" Dean Voorhies, Jr. passed from this life on Friday, August 11, 2023. Donnie was born April 27, 1973, in Oakland, California to Donald Voorhies, Sr. and Susan Anderson Voorhies. He spent most of his life as a truck driver. He and his wife, Sandy, were team drivers and spent 15 of their 20 years together on the road, all over the United States and Canada. His dog, Dixie, was his first love and just as much of a trucker as he was. Sadie, his second dog, stole his heart as well. 

In his free time, he enjoyed his motorcycles and his boat. Donnie was a selfless man that bent over backwards for others. In fact, he would help others before they would even come to ask for help. He was a stubborn man and very decisive. If he set his mind to doing something, he was going to do it and he was going to do it right. Donnie will be missed greatly by all of those who knew him.

Left to carry on his memory are his wife, Sandra Jollimore; father, Donald Voorhies, Sr.; and nephew, Michael Dean. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Voorhies, and his sister, Michelle Denise.

A time to say goodbye, visit with his loved ones, and remember his life will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
