Denise Kathrine (Fowlkes) Johnson, born on September 29, 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Denise was a cherished member of her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her passions.

A proud graduate of Putnam City West High School, class of 1975, Denise embarked on a career as a pharmacy technician, where she met the love of her life, Richard “Bruce” Johnson. The couple wed on December 28, 1981, beginning a journey filled with love and adventure that would span decades. Denise later transitioned into the role of a pharmacy drug representative, showcasing her dedication and expertise in healthcare.

In 1998, Denise and Bruce moved from Edmond, Oklahoma, to North Richland Hills, Texas, before eventually relocating back to Piedmont, Oklahoma. Their final home together was in Azle, Texas, starting in 2007, where she continued to embrace life surrounded by family.

Denise had a passion for animals and, upon retirement from her career in pharmaceuticals, found joy working at PetSmart. She also had a fondness for corgis, showing several in dog shows throughout the years, and Denise enjoyed sharing her love of horses with her granddaughter, Sofia.

In addition to her professional endeavors, she loved camping and was particularly drawn to the beauty of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. A true enthusiast of her Jeep, Denise eagerly participated every year in Jeeping on National Go Topless Day. Her passion for college football, especially for Oklahoma Sooner football, made Saturdays a special occasion in her household. Summer BBQs were a beloved family tradition for her, as was swimming, and she was an avid fan of all things John Wayne and classic westerns.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Bruce” Johnson, of Azle, Texas; her son, Robert Anthony “Tony” Dalla Rosa, and his wife, Danica Dalla Rosa, of Haslet, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Sofia Ann Dalla Rosa and Robert “Drake” Dalla Rosa; her sister-in-law, Lyn Johnson; and many cousins who will also miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” G. Fowlkes; her mother, Dorothy Little; and her brother, Robert “Robbie” Fowlkes. Despite the sorrow of her passing, Denise's spirit will live on through the memories and joy she brought to those who knew her.
