Delores Darlene (Pierce) Narramore

August 16, 1940 — October 1, 2023

Delores Darlene (Pierce) Narramore departed from this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at age 83. Born August 16, 1940, in Nashville Township, Minnesota to the late Edward Pierce and Ruby (Garrison) Pierce; she was one of seven children, and is survived by her brothers, Gordon and his late wife, Barb; Eddie, Jr. and wife, Gerry; Jim and wife, Billie; and her sister, Sharon Black. Delores was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and his wife, Kathy, and Bernard and his surviving wife, Donna.

As a child, Delores was very active and fondly remembered playing on the monkey bars. With her athletic nature, she loved to fish, and also enjoyed bowling, ice skating and softball. In her 50s, Delores took up snow skiing. Also, in her 50s, she ice-skated circles around her husband, daughter and son-in-law on a frozen lake in New Mexico; she was the first one on the lake and the last one off.

Delores had a 27-year career at Albertsons as a pharmaceutical and cosmetics shipping/receiving manager before retiring. She also worked intermittently as a talented seamstress.

After retirement, she used her creativity in crafting, sewing, and working with upholstery. It wasn't until later in life, Delores took up bird watching and gardening fruits and vegetables.

Delores’ greatest joy was her family. She used her great sewing talent to sew costumes and clothes for her children’s stuffed animals, dolls and even GI Joes. She made countless blankets, bedding and quilts for her grandkids. They were her delight and she was theirs. Time with Grandma was fun and relaxing, and she cooked whatever they wanted!

Delores is survived by her beloved husband, Norman "Bud" Narramore of Weatherford, Texas. They married in April of 1962, and recently renewed their wedding vows on their 60th anniversary. Additional survivors include their two children, James Narramore and wife, Keela, and Joni Foote and husband, Mike; three grandchildren, Ashley Wheat (Buck), Cameron Narramore (Whitney), and Madison Seabourn (Hunter); and six great grandchildren, Carson, Paisley, and Emery Wheat, Dawson and Dakota Seabourn, and Leighton Narramore.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St, Weatherford, TX 76086; officiated by Tim Dunn. The service will be livestreamed at www.galbreaithpickard.com on her Tribute Wall and available for viewing at the start of the ceremony.
