Emblem

David Eugene Utley, age 82, passed from this life Tuesday, January 4, 2022. David was born September 2, 1939 in Fort Worth , TX to Joseph and Ella Louise Green Utley. He grew up in White Settlement, but lived in Burleson with his Grandmother for a while. His family lived for a time in Southern California. As a child, some of his greatest memories were of his mother working as a nurse and sometimes the sole physician in White Settlement. Dave joined the Marines at 17 years old and was stationed in South Korea and the Philippines. Once discharged from the Marines he made his way back to Texas where he was a Commodities Broker, Insurance Salesman, Car Salesman, owned a Karate Studio in San Antonio and finally found his calling, owning his own Electrical Connector Distribution company. He was a true entrepreneur. Many from our family were also involved in the family business. Dave worked tirelessly to keep his business profitable and take care of his family. He officially retired five years ago. He started a new hobby just this year manufacturing his own ammunition alongside his son, Austin. He enjoyed golf, being a High School Football Official and was a member of the Couts United Methodist Church. His greatest legacy was being the patriarch of a large family. Over the years many children stayed at the Utley’s, some for a season and others for a lifetime. There are many that called him Dad or Pops, Papa, Grandad or Grandpa. He didn’t care what name he was called, he was just glad to see children grow up and prosper.

David is survived by his Wife, Eliza Utley of Weatherford, Children, Pam Smith and husband Stoney of Derby, KS, J Scott Utley and wife Stephanie of Weatherford, Walter Stevens and wife Brenda of Benbrook, Gertye Utley and husband Rodney Armstrong of London, England, Samantha Hebert and husband Mike of Burkburnett, Austin Utley of Weatherford, Sister, Dawn Hancock of Fort Worth, Brother, Gary Utley of Weatherford. Grandchildren, Quinn, Myriah, Katie, Theodore, Austin Riley, Cameron, Kathryn, Allison and Garrett. Great Grandchildren; Ellie, Audrey and Odin, along with a large and loving extended family.
