David Martinez Sr.

David Martinez Sr., age 85, of Springtown, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

David was a man who appreciated the things that brought him joy and took great pride in his interests. He had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar. An avid collector, David, built an impressive collection of 32 guitars over the years. He also enjoyed collecting jewelry and could often be found carefully cleaning and caring for his favorite Lincoln Town Cars.

During his working years, David was an automotive paint and body technician. His career reflected his skill with his hands, attention to detail, and appreciation for automobiles.

David shared his life with his beloved wife, Kathleen Jones Martinez. David and Kathleen enjoyed more than 30 wonderful years together and were married for 12 years. Their many years together were filled with companionship, love, and cherished memories.

David is survived by his wife, Kathleen Jones Martinez; his son, David Martinez Jr.; his daughter, Lisa Geoghan; his brothers, Arthur Martinez and Tony Martinez Jr.; and his six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Esther Martinez, and his sister, Clara Martinez.

David will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him. While his absence leaves a lasting space in the hearts of those closest to him, they take comfort in knowing that he is now walking with the Lord.

May the memories of David’s music, his love of cars, and the many years share with family and loved ones continue to bring comfort in the days ahead.
