David Martinez Sr.

  David Martinez Sr., age 85, of Springtown, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

  During his working years, David was an automotive paint and body technician. His career reflected his skill with his hands, attention to detail, and appreciation for automobiles. David was a Bodyman for over 40 years for various dealerships throughout Dallas, Texas.

  David shared his life with his beloved wife, Kathleen Jones Martinez. David and Kathleen enjoyed more than 30 wonderful years together and were married for 12 years. 

  David later retired to Springtown, Texas, with his wife Kathy, and he enjoyed the quiet life. He took meticulous pride in cleaning his Lincoln cars. He enjoyed cruising around in them with his wife Kathy. He would enjoy the occasional fishing trip when time permitted. He was a collector of belt buckles and guitars. An avid collector, David, built an impressive collection of 32 guitars over the years.

  Trini Lopez taught David how to play the guitar, and he wanted to be in his band when he was younger.

  David is survived by his wife, Kathleen Jones Martinez; his son, David Martinez Jr.(Robin); his daughter, Melisa Martinez Melisa Geoghan; his brothers, Arthur Martinez (Linda) and Tony Martinez Jr. (Sheila); grandson, Cody Martnez (Corine) and great grandson, Cole Martinez; grandson, Brenden Martinez; great grandchildren, Norah Martinez and Felix Martinez (Brett's children); granddaughter, Teresa Teal and great grandchildren, Christian Boone and Tiana Boone, Granddaughter Erica Teal and Great granddaughters Alyssia Jackson, Makaylah Lucas and Maliah Lucas, Granddaughter Angela Geoghan Culver (Zach) and Great grandson Jason Culver, and numerous nieces and nephews.

  David will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him. While his absence leaves a lasting space in the hearts of those closest to him, they take comfort in knowing that he is now walking with the Lord.

  May the memories of David’s music, his love of cars, and the many years share with family and loved ones continue to bring comfort in the days ahead.
