David Austin Cox

  David Austin Cox, 96, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at a local nursing facility. He was born October 18, 1911, in Morgan Mill, Texas, to John and Emma Lou Cox. At a year old, David and his family moved to Arkansas in a covered wagon and then returned two years later to Parker County. He was a farmer and retiree from American Manufacturing. David was a Baptist and he loved to dance until he reached 92 years of age. 

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Mae; son, W.W. Cox; and a daughter, Katherine Cox. 

  He is survived by a daughter, Dorotha Haley of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Grable of Ft. Worth and Polly of Garner. 

  Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Dilbeck Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2008, at the funeral home.
