Dario Ortega

  Dario Ortega, age 59, passed away on June 5, 2025. Born on November 6, 1965, in Juventino Rosas, Mexico, Dario was the beloved son of the late Raquel Ortega and Gregorio Delgado. 

  A longtime resident of Weatherford, Texas, Dario was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He spent over three decades working as a dedicated cook at Wanda's Restaurant, followed by time at Honey Bee Ham. Known for his strong work ethic and gentle spirit, Dario brought comfort and care to many through the meals he prepared and the friendships he nurtured. 

  Outside of work, Dario found joy in simple pleasures, such as reading and spending time with his family. He was especially known for his compassion toward animals, often feeding stray dogs and cats in his neighborhood. 

  Dario was preceded in death by his parents, Gregario Delgado and Raquel Ortega, and by his niece, Alma Rachel Sanchez. 

  Dario is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Juana Tapia Ortega, of Weatherford; his sons, Eduardo Ortega and wife, Summer, and Christian Ortega; and his cherished grandchildren, Adriano Ortega and Quetzalli Ortega. He is also survived by eight loving siblings and their spouses: Alma Sanchez (Jose), Belen Landin (Santiago), Soledad Delgado (Rosa), Cirilo Delgado (Arcelia), Angel Ortega (Yolanda), Ofelia Ortega, Angelica Delgado (Augustine), and Maria Delgado (Pedro). 

  The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Dario’s life during services at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas, 76086. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral chapel on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., followed by burial at East Greenwood Cemetery. 

  Dario will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of love, service, and quiet compassion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
