Daniel Valdez, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Valdez, Jr., who departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the age of 63—born on October 14, 1960, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Daniel Rios Valdez, Sr., and Pauline R. Valdez. Daniel led a life of honor, dedication, humility, love, and joy.

Daniel was a proud veteran who served his country admirably in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he dedicated his life to raising a family with his wife of 37 years, Susan Valdez, while having a successful career at Bell Helicopter. Daniel was known for his commitment to God, strong work ethic, and ability to bring joy to those around him. 

Daniel's greatest joy stemmed from his cherished family, who will forever hold him in their hearts. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Valdez; his children and their spouses, Leslie and Hector, Nicholas and Meredith, Vincent, Mia and Alan, Lila, and Anthony; his grandchildren, Ava, Alia, Cohen, Eisley, River, Noble, Sage, Tyler, Kayla, Everlyn, and Nicholas; his mother, Pauline; brother and his spouse, Carlos and Jennifer; sisters and their spouses, Linda and Albert, Gloria and Ralph, and Anita and Julian; and many loved nieces and nephews. Daniel has impacted the lives of everyone around him, and he will be deeply missed. His memory will be treasured by all who were blessed to know him.

A visitation to honor Daniel will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at New River Fellowship, followed by interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Weatherford.
