Clem Lee Smith

  Clem Lee Smith, age 83, passed from this life Friday, April 16, 2021. Clem was born January 15, 1938, to Matt Earl and Frankie Crawford Smith. 

  He was a retired Former Deputy Chief of Police Department serving the Weatherford Community for many decades. Clem continued his service to the city as a City Councilman. He had a passion for golf and played in many local and area tournaments. Clem loved being involved with youth sports as a referee and umpire. He especially enjoyed being the longtime coach of the Chiefs, the Optimist Club’s pee wee football team. He was a member of the Prince Memorial CME Church.

  Clem is survived by his daughter, Sharon Berry and husband, John of El Paso; sons, Louis Smith of Arlington, Alan Smith of Fort Worth, Carl Smith and wife, Vicky of San Antonio, John Smith of Fort Worth, Leonard Smith and wife, Jondwalyn of Duncanville; sister, Etta Ruth Scott of Weatherford; sister-in-law, Jane Haley and husband, Curtis of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and longtime friends.

  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with the funeral ceremony beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.
