Clara Mae Rich, also known to friends as “Sam”, left this earth to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2023. She was a loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Clara was born in Morris County, Texas, on April 10, 1936.

She raised 4 children as a stay-at-home mom. Clara then had a secretarial career and retired from Edna Gladney Home. She was a resident of Benbrook for over 30 years and a member of Benbrook Baptist Church. Clara was fun loving with a “big” personality. She loved her family with a passion and would do anything for them.

Memorial Service: Private family service, Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Rich; father, Vernon Gunn; mother, Cleo Gunn; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Survivors: daughters, Debbie Thrasher, Vickie Hanson and husband, Guy; sons, Randy Griffin and wife, Denise, and Jeff Griffin; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
