Charles “Chuck” Wyatt Haught, age 67, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas, to Peter and Bonnie (Hale) Haught.
Chuck was known for his strong work ethic and practical skills, and excelling in many professions spanning his lifetime. Growing up and as a young man he lived the cowboy way of life every day. He went on to become a tool pusher in the oilfield for many years, a commercial roofing contractor, and a compressor mechanic in the oilfield. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid horse lover and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting - pastimes that reflected his deep appreciation for nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Bonnie Haught; his brother, Roger Haught; and his sister, Jo Warner.
Above all, Chuck treasured time spent with his family and his Jack Russel Festus. Left to carry on his legacy are his sons, Charles Haught (Crystal), and Lucas Haught (Elizabeth); and his grandson, Tate Haught, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by Sheila Haught (Gary Fowler), the mother of his children and his closest friend; his sister, Robin Maynard (Wesley); and by his nieces and nephews, Jake, Caleb, and Sarah Maynard; Jody and Rebekah Warner; and Adrian and Felecia Haught.
