Charles “Charlie” Lee Burleson, Sr. passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, in Graham, Texas, leaving behind a cherished legacy, a loving family, and memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him. Born on January 4, 1962, in Paris, France, Charlie’s life was defined by the warmth of his relationships, the depth of his love for family, and the enduring strength of his spirit.
Charlie is survived by a devoted and extensive family who meant the world to him. He was a beloved father to Charles Lee Burleson, Jr., Britney Burleson, and Brandi Gee. Through marriage, his family grew to include his dear daughter-in-law Vickie, and sons-in-law Jeremy and Jason, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
As a grandfather, Charlie found immense joy in being present for both ordinary days and extraordinary milestones in the lives of his grandchildren: Darren Lackey and wife Alex, David (Eric) Lackey, Ryan Lackey and wife Jordin, Colten Lackey, Breanna Smith and husband Brett, Dezmond Durand, Chase Brock, Lyric Davis, Nova Lankford, Liberty Mullanax, Cypress Lankford, Evie Durand, Sebastien Rhine, and Aspyn West. Each grandchild brought joy, laughter, and a sense of pride that Charlie carried with him always. He was also blessed to have nine great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emma, Elizabeth, Eretria, Rayvann, Issabelle, Rylie, Ellie and Everleigh Brock.
Charlie’s legacy extends to his siblings as well, whose support and companionship were a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. Charlie held his brother James and his two sisters, Jean and Lisa, close to his heart, valuing the unbreakable bonds of family.
Throughout his life, Charlie demonstrated a steadfast devotion to those he loved, offering guidance, encouragement, and affection without reservation. Though his journey began in Paris and led him eventually to Mineral Wells and then to Graham, Texas, it was never the places that defined him, but the relationships and kindness he cultivated at every step. His memory will remain alive in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, siblings, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
Charles “Charlie” Lee Burleson, Sr. will be remembered with deep respect for his unwavering dedication to his family and his profound impact on their lives. His was a life well-lived—full of meaning, purpose, and love.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Gospel Light Baptist Church, in Mineral Wells, Texas.
