Carroll “Buck” Leroy Buckmaster, 85, left this world peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023. Buck was born January 7, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Carroll Llewlleyn Buckmaster and Doris (Tracy) McCain.

He was a retired helicopter pilot for the oil and gas industry, who served in the United States Marine Corp and the United States Army; Buck was a flight instructor for both planes and helicopters and served at Fort Wolters base in Mineral Wells, Texas. He also served as a police officer in Maryland, prior to settling in Weatherford, Texas.

Buck will be remembered as a gun enthusiast who loved teaching at his gun range; also, he enjoyed his hobby of flying small aircrafts, including drones and his Ultralight airplane. Buck and his wife, Hazel, were both animal lovers and had several dogs and cats over the years; Bugs, Callie, and Mo were three of his favorite cats.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Buckmaster; brother, Melvyn McCain; and good friends, Brent Graves and Don Ratts.

Surviving are his three brothers, Jim McCain, Raymon McCain, and Robert McCain; loyal, best friend, Badger; friends and neighbors, Danna L. Harper, David Prescott, Mike Ratts, Jerry Coble, and Karen Graves and family.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Weatherford Animal Shelter.
