Carolyn Jean David

Carolyn Jean David, age 77, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. She was born December 7, 1946, in Cleburne, Texas to Bill Holmes and Dorothy (McKelvey) Holmes. Carolyn's upbringing took place in Cleburne where her roots were firmly established. It was during her time at Stephen F. Austin that she crossed paths with her husband, Daniel H. David; their union in marriage came in 1970 following Dan's completion of pilot training in the United States Air Force.

After many years of traveling due to Dan's military career, they returned to Texas and settled in Hudson Oaks in 1990. There, Carolyn made her mark in the oil and gas industry. This move also opened doors to new opportunities for community involvement through various charitable endeavors. Her passion for music and dancing brought joy to those around her, while her love for travel and skiing added vibrancy to her life experiences. What always mattered most was her love of her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or Doctors Without Borders - a reflection of her compassionate spirit towards helping others.

Left to cherish Carolyn's memory is her devoted husband, Daniel H. David of Hudson Oaks, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and David Jones; precious grandson, Owen Jones; along with three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Rebecca Holmes, Alvin and Wanda Holmes, Bill and Angie Holmes; and including numerous nieces and nephews who will hold fond memories of their beloved aunt.

A memorial service honoring Carolyn's life will be conducted at the First Methodist Church Weatherford, Saturday, March 23, 2024, with the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. - an occasion to pay tribute to a woman whose presence touched the hearts of many with warmth, love, joy, and kindness. Carolyn will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her dearly.
