Caroline Faulkenberry

Caroline Faulkenberry, age 85, departed from this life on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born in Garner, Texas on March 3, 1938, to David Waitmon Watkins and Fannie Oleta (Chunn) Watkins. Caroline worked as a Librarian for Travis Elementary for 20 years, was PTA life member, and a member of Brock UMC. She wrote poetry, enjoyed bird watching and singing, and she found solace in the beautiful moments shared with her family. Caroline was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, David and Fannie Watkins; brothers, John David Watkins and James Edward Watkins; and sister, Sandra Oleta Springwater.

Caroline is survived by her husband of 66.5 years, Chess Wade Faulkenberry; children, Karis Rene Stateham, Celecia Dee Stoup and husband Jimmy, Mark Lanka Faulkenberry and wife Dianna; grandchildren, Lyndsee Elizabeth Faulkenberry, Julia Caroline Nowak and husband Paul, Shawna Rene Jones and husband Philip, Karig Gene Stoup and wife Lauren, Dr. Jessica Jean Faulkenberry, and Shawn Wyatt; great grandchildren, Carson Nowak, Silas Jones, Andrew Jones, Charlotte "Charli" Caroline Wyatt, Emma Stoup, and Rose Nowak; brother, Paul Lewis Watkins and wife Shirley; as well as a multitude of extended family members who loved her very much.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Bethesda Cemetery, State Highway 113 North, Garner, Texas 76088.

A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, at 10:00 a.m., at Johnson Hall in Bethesda UMC, 6657 FM 113, Weatherford, Texas 76088.
