Bonita Lee Walker

  Bonita Lee Walker, 86, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born May 12, 1935, in Anna, Texas, to Haskell and Leslie Pierson Phillips. Bonita was a teacher and librarian at Peaster Elementary for many years. She was a longtime member of North Side Baptist Church, enjoyed reading and taking care of her dogs. 

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Waymon Walker.

  Bonita is survived by her children, Deborah Berkley (Joe), Phillip Walker, and John Walker (Debbie Burns); grandsons, Matthew and Tanner Walker; great granddaughter, Trinity Makayla Walker; brother, Ted Phillips; and a host of extended family members.

  Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral ceremony: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
