Emblem Emblem

Billy Joe Shadden gained his angel wings on October 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.

Born on March 10, 1932, in Paducah, Texas, he was the cherished son of Belle and N.A. Shadden. Billy Joe proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years, demonstrating remarkable strength, honor, and dedication. His commitment to service continued as he spent 25 years in the National Guard Armory.

On December 1, 1951, Billy Joe married the love of his life, Joan Richards. Together, they cultivated a beautiful life filled with faith, laughter, and unwavering love. Their family blossomed with the arrival of six children - one son and five daughters - who brought immense joy to his heart.

Billy Joe was a devoted pastor, dedicating many years to ministry and sharing the love of Christ with all who crossed his path. His fierce love for the Lord resonated in his everyday life, serving as a testament to God’s grace and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan, and their infant daughter, Elizabeth. He also mourns the loss of his parents, Belle and N.A. Shadden, and his siblings: sisters, Sue Brown and Faye Armstrong; and brothers, Ray Shadden and Jack Shadden.

Billy Joe leaves behind a loving family: his son, Michael Shadden and wife, Cherri; daughters, Karen Pittman and husband, Rodney, Debra Wade and husband, Allen, Tammy Shadden and wife, Michele, and Darla Causey and husband, Walt. He is lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

In celebrating Billy Joe's life, we honor a man of remarkable faith, devoted to family and community, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
