Billy Royce Young

  Billy “Bill” Royce Young, 81, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at his home following a brief illness. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:30, Tuesday, September 25, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

  Bill was born July 20, 1937, in Thackerville, Oklahoma, to Charles and Norma Young. He was a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe. Bill enjoyed time spent at Possum Kingdom Lake. He was a police officer and detective for the Fort Worth Police Department and was later a Medical Investigator for Tarrant County. Bill will be remembered for being a devoted father and a ‘wonderful grandfather.’

  Bill is survived by his long-time companion, Gladys Hansen; his brother, Charles Allen Young; his children, Billy Charles Young, Christie Driver, Royce Gene Young and wife Kimberly and Rick Young and wife Donna; his grandchildren, Michael Young, Brian Young, Jennifer Driver, Ryan Driver, Amber Herren, Autumn Young, Garrett Young and Wyatt Young; and great-grandchildren, Aris Young, Ashton Young, Harper Young, Kenleigh Driver and Graham Herren.

  Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
