Barbara Ann Oaks, 84, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born February 15, 1939, in Weatherford, Texas to Melvin Harris and Florence (Stults) Harris. Barbara worked as an LVN for many years followed by a career at Jamak Fabrications in Weatherford, for over 35 years, where she retired. She'll be remembered for her love of crossword puzzles, and being an avid reader who loved to eat a bowl of Cheerios. Barbara remained active by playing in a bowling league and winning state titles with her sister, Johnnie Lou.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Oaks; son, Jimmy Oaks; parents, Melvin and Florence Harris; and siblings, Laquita Manley, Clifford Harris, Johnnie Lou Parry, and Dorothy Harris.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Joe Ann Sullens and husband, James; two grandchildren, Joshua Gill and his wife, Alitha, and Elizabeth Gill; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Hopkins and her husband, Noah, Jared Rucas and Rorrie Steadman; and one great great-grandchild, Ella Hopkins.

A funeral ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. Burial to follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.
