Born in Tula, Tamaulipas on July 4, 1951, Antonio and his wife moved to Weatherford after they got married, where they built a life centered on raising their family. Family meant everything to Antonio, and even his friends who came and went were all considered part of his “familia.”
If you knew Antonio, you’d know that “He always made sure you had a plate of his beloved wife’s delicious Mexican cooking at his table to eat.” Antonio was well known for his genuine hospitality to everyone he met, whether they were friends, strangers, or his children’s friends. Everyone was always welcome in his home.
His children and grandchildren will always carry a piece of their “Apa” and “Abuelito” in their hearts, along with his children who will continue to uphold his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Quirino Cruz Vasquez and Maria Olvera Garza.
Antonio’s memory will live on through his loving and caring wife, Juana; their children: Dora Hernandez; Ruben Cruz; Marcos Cruz; Maria Muñiz; Alma Macias; Juan Cruz; Diana Melchor; Nellie Rangel; Rolando Cruz; Albert Cruz, Griselda Cruz; Alicia Muñoz; Bobby Cruz; and each of their significant others. Antonio's beloved grandchildren: Erick, Jenavi Cruz, Jasmine Aquino, Alexis Akin, Jacqueline Melchor, Elena, Isabel, Analise, Oseias Rangel, Adrian Cruz, Nadia, Nico Cruz, Abraham Velazquez, Aaron, Bryan, Raul, Isaac, Melanie Muñoz, Kamila, Liliana, Jovani Cruz, Laurie Ramos, Alma, Jesus Hernandez, Cesar, James, Mario Muñiz, Jessenia, Johnanna, Luis, April, Joe Ruben, Felipe, Jose, Maria, Joshua Cruz, Jeremiah, Jesse, and Jennesis Cruz; and all his great-grandchildren.
Antonio is also survived by his siblings, Quirino, Juan, Hector, Tedoro, Gustavo, Reynaldo, Lillia, and Guadalupe Cruz; and numerous loving family and friends.
