Annora Pate, age 74, died Monday, November 11, 2013 in Orlando, Florida. Born to Annette and Norman Wood, on February 14, 1939, in Weatherford, Texas, she was the second of their six children. In 1954, she married Bill Wiley, and they had two boys, Danny and Bill. After his unexpected death, she remarried Ben D. Pate in 1958, and they had two daughters, LaDonna and Leah.
Annora spent many years painting landscapes of the Texas Hill country and Native American artifacts. Her family remembers her as a strong matriarch, spirited and wise.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Pate; brother, Billy Reed; and eldest son, Danny Wiley.
She is survived by three children: Bill Wiley, LaDonna Oney and Leah Teague; four siblings: Joe Bud Wood, Nellie Wood, Norma Faye Gammick and Charles Lee; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at the Dicey Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
