Annie Belle Hamilton Rhodes, 92, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026 in Orlando, Florida. It was Annie Belle’s wish to be cremated. She will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in Weatherford, Texas at a later date.
She was born on March 23, 1933, in Haskell County, Texas, to Henry and Cleta Mae Montgomery Hamilton. She spent her formative years in Weatherford, Texas and graduated from Weatherford High School. She spent most of her life living in Parker, Tarrant, and Palo Pinto Counties. Her last nine years were spent living with her son in Orlando, Florida.
Annie Belle had a variety of interesting jobs over her long-life including positions at China Lake Naval Base, Tarrant County Civil Courts, and General Dynamics. She continued to work long after her retirement at local water departments into her 80’s.
After many years, she was able to fulfill a lifetime dream of getting a college education, obtaining a BBA and Teachers Certification from Tarleton State University at the age of 60. Annie Belle was also a very active volunteer and supporter of the Johnnie High Country Music Review, and she was an avid lover of country music.
Annie Belle is survived by her son and daughter in-law, David and Martha Boyd; granddaughters, Valerie Boyd Parrish (husband Brad) and Michelle Boyd; and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Parrish, all of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Karen Viator of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rhodes; stepdaughter, Sandra Futch; and two brothers, Leroy Hamilton and Waymon Hamilton.
