Anita Jeannie Carter

  Anita “Jeannie” Carter, 59, of Mineral Wells, passed away early August 14, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice.

  Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, at Brock Baptist Church, with Pastor Greg Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.

  Anita was born on December 9, 1955, in Weatherford. She had four children, Anita Joyce, Brandy, James, and Matt. Anita worked as Assistant Manager at the Sonic in Weatherford for over 20 years. She enjoyed working word puzzles, sewing and crocheting, cooking and baking, and playing Rummy. Most of all, Jeannie cherished time spent with her family – particularly her grandchildren.

  Anita is survived by her children, Anita Joyce Alanis, Brandy Carroll, James (Aqeelah Billingslea-Carroll), and Matt Carroll; sisters, Sandra (Stanley) Barham, Lois (David) Wright, Elaine Carter, Jeff Carter, and Tim (Mary) Carter; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Anita Carter and by two brothers, Mike and Bob Carter.
