Alta Juanita Lankford

  Alta Juanita Lankford, age 99, of Weatherford, died Thursday, July 4, 2013. Alta was born February 1, 1914, in Elmore City, Oklahoma, to Rhoda Lee Patterson and William Thomas Guthrie.

  Mrs. Lankford was a homemaker and a member of Primitive Baptist Church. She loved sewing and was known as the quilt maker of the family. She enjoyed baseball and was a Texas Ranger fan. Alta loved working crossword puzzles and tending to her flower garden.

  Mrs. Lankford was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lankford; daughter, Shirley Sue Arnwine; son, Wyndell Lankford; and grandson, Danny Arnwine.

  Survivors include daughter, Faye Gammon of Weatherford; son, Bobby Lankford of Weatherford; sister, Ivanell McBryde of Azle; and fifteen grandchildren.

  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2013, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment: Private.
