Alma Dean Pierce

Alma Dean Pierce, 91, of Weatherford, passed away unexpectedly early on Monday, August 31, 2020, at her home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. 

Alma Dean was born on December 20, 1928, in Forsan, Texas to Ras and Annie Riley Umphress. She worked at Campbell Hospital as a Pharmacist for many years. Alma Dean was a long-time member of North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford. A single mother, she was known for her driving determination in raising her family. She enjoyed cooking, travelling, and crocheting. Most of all, Alma Dean will be remembered for her love and devotion toward her family. 

Alma Dean is survived by her children, Steve (Sharon) Rains, Christy (Scooter) Roland, and Bryan Pierce; grandchildren, Steven (Sarah) Rains, Jr., Stephanie (Bo) Lynn, and Scotty Rains; great grandchildren, Gavin, Remi, and Seattle; sister, Melba Anderson; nieces and nephews, Paul and Kay Leverett and Bob and Shirley Anderson; as well as the Anderson family. 

In addition to her parents, Alma Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Pierce, and by her son, Danny Rains.
