Allie Lavada Ratzlaff

May 7, 1939 — January 29, 2026

Allie Lavada (Wolfenberger) Ratzlaff (86) passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 29 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Lavada was born on May 7, 1939 just down the road from her current home in the community of Peaster. Parents were Alta (Boecker) Wolfenberger and Alvin Wolfenberger, the youngest of two, having an older brother, Bob. Lavada attended school at Peaster, Weatherford, and Denton TX.

Two daughters were born to Lavada and she found her true calling as a mother and homemaker. She was an amazing cook and baker. She canned food from the garden, made awesome jelly and at one time decorated cakes for special occasions for friends and family.

Life took Lavada and family to Marlin, TX where she raised her daughters. There she married Alfred Feldman and they continued to make their home in Marlin, TX. Retirement and the need to help family brought Lavada back home to Parker County. Alfred (Red) passed away in 1998.

In later years she received the blessing of three more children and their families after marrying their father, Karl Ratzlaff. They built a life together in Peaster sharing in the community or traveling when possible until his death in 2010.

Lavada lived her life as a servant of God. Living quietly, she worked in her church and was active in the Zion Hill Community. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, she cherished time spent with those she loved. Lavada was loved by so many and will be forever missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include: daughters – Joy Ellis (John), Cindy Greene, Cathy DeArmand (Dennis); sons – Mark Ratzlaff (Susan) and Steven Ratzlaff (Yvette); grandchildren – Karla Janssen (Brian), Westan Harden, John Ellis (Cristina), Brian Greene (A. J.), Bethany Hand (Adam), Ben DeArmond, Lauren Weber (Steve), Caitlin Ratzlaff, Derek Ratzlaff (Victoria) and Andrew Ratzlaff (Rachel); 11 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
