Allen “Buster” Truett Lemons, 80, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at a local nursing home. Allen was born October 2, 1934 in Crowley, Texas, and proudly served his country in the Army at age 17. After completing his military service, Allen worked as a forklift operator for Bell Helicopter until retirement.
He was a member of Garner Baptist Church, broke countless horses in his day, loved watching Texas Rangers baseball, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Truett was happiest working on older cars or taking the family camping and fishing.
Allen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sophia; daughters, Diana Ross and her husband, Kenneth of Garner; Maria Nolen and her husband, Craig of Garner; and Kathy Gomez and her husband, Joe of Peaster; sisters, Peggy of Crowley and Patricia of Fort Worth; brother, Don Ray of Azle; nine grandchildren, Maggie, Trey, Travis, Katrina, Sara, C.J., Bobby, Courtney and Julia; and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jaxson, Collin, and Stetson.
Mr. Lemons was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura of Crowley; sisters, Ima Jean and Cleo; and his brother, George W., Jr.
Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday June, 26, 2015 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Garner Baptist Church. Interment Bethesda Cemetery.
