Alan Wayne Myers

Alan Wayne Myers, 81, departed from this life to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was born February 13, 1942, in Corsicana, Texas to Herbert Myers and Ora (Hargrave) Myers.

Alan graduated with a Masters Degree from Texas A & M. He began his career in Tullahoma, Tennessee for Aero Space Company working as a wind tunnel tester for three years; he then moved to Fort Worth and worked at General Dynamics, followed by joining Bell Helicopter for 31 years retiring as the Director of Engineers. Alan was the leader of the H-1 Upgrade Team, the F-35 Certification Team, and the main designer and developer of the 430 helicopter that flew around the world with Ross Perot, Jr., and he successfully beat the Russians in this daring expedition.

Presently, Alan was working as the Chief Engineer for AVX Aircraft, during all of this time he also devoted his time to being a Deacon; Alan was an extremely strong Christian and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church for 25 years. Alan was a very patriotic man with a strong love for America, above all he was a wonderful husband, an amazing Dad, and a very special Paw Paw who loved his family very much.

Alan is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Myers of Granbury, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Cuppett and husband, Darren; son, Scott Myers and wife, Susan; four grandchildren, Jessica George and husband, Matt, Levi Myers and wife, Rachel, Caleb Myers and wife, Amy, and Jacob Myers; eleven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Noah, Madisyn, Cooper, Caden, Catie, Wyatt, John Henry, Emily, Virgil, and Abigail.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ora Myers, and two brothers, Gene and Kirby Myers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N Main St, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Interment will take place at Norwood Cemetery, in Hearne, Texas.

Live-streaming will be available here on Alan's Tribute Wall at the start of the service for those who are unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Foundation.

The funeral chapel is not involved in the service.
