William Woodrow Dillahunty

June 16, 1914 — February 17, 2008

  William Woodrow Dillahunty, was born June 16, 1914, at Ozark, Arkansas, and passed from this life to a better place February 17, 2008, at the age of 93 years, 8 months.   

  Woodrow was a faithful member of the South Main Church of Christ. His family migrated to Weatherford by covered wagon when he was six months old. He started school at the Fox School, west of Weatherford. The family moved to Greer County, Oklahoma in 1926.   

  Woodrow married Fern Jones on December 2, 1934. They farmed until 1947 at which time they moved to Albany, Texas where he engaged in oil field work. He retired from trucking in 1976 while living in Oklahoma City. They then moved back to Granite, Oklahoma where Woodrow served as an Elder in the Church at Granite. Woodrow and Fern moved to Weatherford in 1987 and remained here until his passing.   

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; his parents; five brothers; and two sisters. 

  Survivors: sons, Dale Dillahunty and his wife, Ruth of Weatherford, Texas and Don Dillahunty and his wife, Maxine of Prescott, Arizona; daughter, Darla Newman and her husband, Merv of Fort Worth; brother, Raymond Dillahunty of Granite, Oklahoma; special friend, Ruth Jones; 10 Grand Children, 23 Great Grand Children, 14 Great Great Grand Children, and numerous relatives and friends.
