William L. Murdock, age 97, passed from this life to his Eternal Home on October 22, 2021, in Weatherford, Texas. He was born on June 10, 1924, in Casper, Wyoming, to James M. Murdock and Frances May (Blodgett) Murdock. William was a member of The Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas. As a young adult, William joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was retired from the Air Force. During his time in the military in WW II, William was a Prisoner of War in Germany. He was also a crew chief during the Berlin Airlift. After retirement, he enjoyed RVing to Alaska and numerous other locales across the United States.
In addition to his parents, James M. and Frances May Murdock, William was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Erma Pauline (Martin) Murdock; wife, Ester Murdock; and by his sisters and brothers.
Left to cherish his memory and legacy are his sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight (Pamela) Murdock of Weatherford, Texas; William L. "Bill" Murdock, Jr. (Cynthia McCart) of Box Elder, South Dakota; grandchildren Robert, David, Tracie, and Kim; four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Doug Lapham of Overland Park, Kansas; Linda Agent of Bronte, Texas; and David Behrend of San Angelo, Texas; as well as other extended family.
A private family interment will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas.
