William Howard Buxton

February 27, 1961 — November 3, 2021

William Howard Buxton, 60, of Granbury, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 27, 1961 to Charles “Bill” Buxton and Mary Estalyne Buxton.

Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M., on Saturday, November 6, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Weatherford.

William retired in Granbury, with his beautiful wife, Terri, in their beautiful new home and almost lake front property. If you didn’t see the Pontoon in the driveway, no matter the time of day, or in a ditch around the corner, you could find him “cruising” the lake and often stopped by local boat patrol who quickly knew him by name. William was a jack of all trades and master of many. He would often sit back and watch you attempt to do something while providing commentary on how it should be done, his way of course, which eventually would turn into him doing it himself. He had a dry sense of humor and always had a joke up his sleeve. He wasn’t often an emotional person, but you could easily tell if he was by his nostrils flaring (his way of holding back laughter or fighting back tears). William loved hard and was loved and respected by many. He was the epitome of the saying “God didn’t promise a life without pain, struggles, and hardships. He promises to give you the strength to get through them”. He fought hard through many battles and overcame most of them. On his last day on Earth, he asked if he was being punked. While we all wish he was, we know he’s in Heaven causing a ruckus and telling all of his infamous jokes while bragging on his greatest accomplishments, his wife, 6 children and numerous grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doc and Dorothy Buxton; parents, Bill and Mary Buxton; and sister, Sherlene “Chris” Svoboda.

Survivors: sister Kathlene “Kathy” Eagleton and Kenneth of Aledo; Loving wife of 20 years, Terri Buxton; daughters, Becky Conway and husband John of Springtown; Julie Buxton and James Moore of Weatherford; Susan Buxton and favorite son-in-law Scott Hadley of Fort Worth; Amie Miller of Weatherford; sons, Payton Blackman and Lindsey of Rowlett; Hunter Blackman and Taryn of Granbury; grandchildren, William Parnell, Corbie Conway, Malachai Conway, Bradley Parnell, Brayden Buxton, Kendall Brown, Nolan Buxton, Hunter Hadley, Morgan Miller, Miles Blackman, Maverick Blackman, Hadley Blackman, Hawk Blackman, and Hayes Blackman; Ex-wife, Jennifer Ard and Richard; and many other loving family members and friends.
