Willard Newman Bloodworth

August 6, 1928 — November 4, 2007

Willard Newman Bloodworth, 79 of Weatherford, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 7:14 p.m. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor.   Willard was born August 6, 1928 in Parker County to Finley and Alva Bloodworth. He was the fourth child in his family of six siblings. Willard went to Brock High School.   Mr. Bloodworth was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an MP in the 1st Calvary Division.  Willard was co-owner of Dean’s Grocery, and was owner of Willard’s Pest Control from 1971 to 1990.   His greatest love was for his wife Oleta, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family, along with his church friends and neighbors. He loved hunting, fishing with his son Don and grandson Danny.  Willard was a member and deacon at Eureka Baptist Church.   Willard married Oleta Scarbrough on August 25, 1950.  They were proud parents of son,  Don Bloodworth. He was preceded in death by his mother Alva, father, Finley Bloodworth, sister, Dorthy Horn Cox, brothers, Duaine, Garland, Garford and Lenual Bloodworth.   Willard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Oleta Bloodworth of Weatherford;  son, Don and wife Marlena Bloodworth, grandson Danny Bloodworth and wife, Jennifer, granddaughter, Michelle Hipp and husband Jason, four great grandchildren,  Trenton, Chant’e, and Jayden Hipp and Elizabeth Bloodworth, several nieces and nephews  Funeral service 2:00 P.M.  Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation 6-8 PM Tuesday at Galbreaith Pickard. Interment in Memory Gardens.
